Here's a new way to make money on Twitter

Ignore at your own risk

In January 2022, I didn’t start writing on Twitter because I liked it there.

I barely used it prior. It was a rare sight to see the app on my phone, in fact. Questions like “What is a tweet?”, “What is a retweet?”, went unanswered until I started creating actively in early 2022.

But with the recent updates rolling in on the bird app — including today’s major discussion — I’m beginning to wish I started creating here sooner!

Let’s go back to 2013. Being a YouTuber was alright back then. However, the idea of going full-time was unheard of. That all changed in 2022. After seeing creators like MrBeast, Dream, and more, most kids envision their future job being YouTubers.

We are about to witness another significant change.

Elon tweeted this in February:

And then MrBeast followed up with this:

While this is exciting news, 5 months went by and that didn’t happen. I thought Elon pushed the concept to 2024 until a man called “Benny Johnson” posted this screenshot:

Photoshop?

That’s what I thought to until the official Twitter handle had this to say:

This isn’t just good news, it is monumental.

Twitter’s popularity surged post-Elon’s reign, but this? It might break the platform’s user capacity.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you must’ve noticed all the updates that came to the platform:

  • New “for you” tab

  • New “discover more” section at the end of each tweet

  • 2000-word tweets (aka articles)

  • Improved video interface

  • New “highlight” section

  • Better DM interface

  • New “follow” button at the top right of any highlighted comment

  • ...and the most appreciated feature: a drastic decline in censorship

With these in mind, it makes sense why this platform will go by “the everything app“ someday.

Twitter is evolving. In time, it won’t just be another social network. It’ll become the home for well... everything Zuck promised minus the data sharing, ad blizzard, and censorship.

If you’re one of those weirdos who think threads will beat Twitter, look at this:

And have this too:

Who would’ve thought people would make money off posting 280 characters? Wild.

If you’re interested in making money off Twitter’s ad revenue, here’s what you need to know:

5M impressions per month is a lot. However, I believe it’s a decent baseline for a start. It will boost activity on the platform and force users to create more quality content.

I’m releasing some products in the future to help creators build and monetise a Twitter following. Maybe that’ll interest you.

Until then, here’s advice: Start building now.

Twitter is a growing platform with an amazing vision. I hope you don’t regret NOT building now and fast.

I’m having a space next week. Set a reminder if this topic interests you:

See you then.
