5 X Growth Tips From A Kid With 98,607 Followers

This is the fourth letter in the Sorry Series.

Today, I’m going to share 5 growth tips to help you build a more profitable brand online.

Let’s get right into it:

I struggled with the afternoon slump and getting up from bed issues 2 months ago. It wasn’t until I met Jack Moses that I solved those problems.

Jack also taught me a lot about being productive as a creator.

Today I call him a friend and the man has just released his latest masterpiece:

The Creator Performance Cohort.

There, he’ll teach you how he made $48k in 10 months as a high-performance creator.

Get access to the cohort now before the price goes up on the 28th.

PS: I’m having a guest masterclass in that very cohort in February. I hope to see you inside.

(1) Create your Identity

Who are you?

Self-improvement is only possible when you know the self that must be improved.

A personal brand is your digital identity, so you must first know yourself.

If you don’t know who you are, you must look within.

  • What topics are you interested in?

  • What are you good at that you like doing?

  • What are your weaknesses?

  • What is your backstory up to this point?

  • What do you do for work?

  • What is your long-term mission?

  • What hill are you willing to die on?

  • Without answering these questions, you’re not building a personal brand.

  • You’re building a public following,

(2) Project your Identity

  • Headshot

  • Banner

  • Bio

  • Logo

  • Website

  • Brand colours

  • Content

These are elements that project yourself to the world.

Be intentional about them because it’ll decide the amount of followers and dollars you’ll have to your name.

Get an aesthetic headshot.

Promote a free product in your banner.

Tell your profile visitors what they can expect if they follow you.

Use a logo, colour, and website that suits you (later in your journey).

Create the content you’d like to consume.

(3) Distribution

It’s possible to write hogwash and have it go viral.

It’s possible to write the consummate piece on a topic and have it dwell with the crickets.

Distribution is the differentiator.

For starters, posting on social media is more profitable than blogging for distribution.

But at the start, the algorithm doesn't care about you.

You must counter this by engineering getting more each.

Either you buy it or you borrow it.

For X...

Buying: purchase reposts from accounts that have your dream audience or run ads.

Borrowing: set up your network of creators, who boost each other.

Whatever you choose, remember that your content is on the line.

Don’t spend 3 hours writing something and then not even 30 minutes promoting it.

(4) Hop on Spaces

Don’t ignore spaces.

  • Competition is less, so you stand out

  • It helps you connect more with your audience

  • Voice, especially a good one, is more engaging than text

Start by getting a few friends on board and starting a series.

(This is what I did at the start of my journey with a team of 8 people. Eventually, that relationship ran its course. But I went on to have a successful space career, hosting the likes of Chris Do, Bruno Nwogu, Jon Brosio, and much more.)

If you’re shy, start anyway.

No one will put your gut to the test with a tomato.

It’s online speaking, not public speaking.

Don’t forget that.

(5) Start building your list

The more followers you add, the fewer of your followers you reach over time — especially after the 20k mark.

At that point, social media platforms assume you have enough followers, and hence enough money to spend on them for reach..

Ex: Facebook only shows your post to 3% of your followers, while encouraging you to pay for more reach.

Save yourself thousands of dollars by building your email list.

I recommend you start with Beehiiv — it’s the tool I’m sending you this email with.

It’s free until you hit 10,000 subscribers!

That’s it.

In the next email, I’ll show you how to make your first $1000 online.

Look out for it.
